Readers meet their audience
Reviewed reader copy gives publishers a clear starting point for multilingual documents and accessible navigation.
Publish a PDFReviewed reader copy.
The reader includes reviewed copy in all 24 official EU languages plus the specified global languages and regional variants. Unsupported languages fall back to English.
- Reader controls are reviewed in all 24 official EU languages, plus Ukrainian, Norwegian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Hindi.
- Brazilian Portuguese has its own reviewed copy; other regional variants resolve through their primary language, so
de-ATreads German andes-419reads Spanish. - An explicit
?lang=wins, then the document setting, then the workspace default, then the visitor'sAccept-Language, then the document's content language, then English. - The language signal is transient. EmbedFox never inspects an IP address, sets a cookie or stores a visitor preference to decide it.
- In an embed,
data-embedfox-langpins the language; without it the loader offers the host page's ownlangattribute.
What it does not do yet.
Naming the edge is more useful than implying there is none. These are on the product roadmap, not in the product.
- Right-to-left reader layout, which needs its own reviewed foundation before any language is called supported.
- Translating the document itself — the controls meet the audience, the content stays exactly as you published it.
